I See Me! Announces a Partnership with First Book, Helping to Give New Books to Under-Privileged Children
I See Me! Inc. is proud to announce our partnership with First Book, a nonprofit organization that has distributed over 60 million books to under-privileged children in thousands of communities around the USA. Periodically throughout the year, I See Me! Inc. will feature a special promotion that provides a $10 donation to support First Book.
Do you remember a favorite book that you read as a child? Access to books is essential to developing literacy, yet many children from low-income families simply do not have access to books. A recent study* shows that while in middle-income neighborhoods the ratio of books per child is 13 to 1, in low-income neighborhoods, the ratio is 1 age-appropriate book for every 300 children. "Our goal," says Maia Haag, president of I See Me! Inc., "is to work with this outstanding organization to pursue our mutual mission of increasing literacy in children."
